Goliath Must Fall: Winning the Battle Against Your Giants by Louie Giglio
Goliath Must Fall is the latest book from preacher Louie Giglio, the man behind the Passion Movement, comprised of Passion Conferences, Passion City Church, Passion Publishing, and sixstepsrecords, and the founder of Passion Global Institute. If you're not familiar with the Passion movement, it's a gathering for the college-aged kids to help them to live in such a way that their journey on earth counts for what is most important in the end.
In Goliath Must Fall, Giglio uses the story of David, a mere shepherd, who takes a stand against insurmountable odds after the giant Goliath insults David's God. David stands up and challenges Goliath after King Saul and his troops listen to Goliath's taunts for a full 40 days. And he does so without the protection of armor or an army.
Many of us have been taught that we are David and we can defeat our Goliaths but that's just wrong. Our Goliaths have been defeated on the cross. That makes our David Jesus.
Giglio goes on to show how we can live a life of victory over our giants. I really, really enjoyed this book. I wish that I had read Goliath Must Fall much earlier in my Christian walk. The book is an easy read and would be good for those in high school and older who are learning about how to live a victorious Christian life and how to increase their faith. I highly recommend it.
