VeggieTales 365 Daily Devos for Boys and 365 Daily Devos for Girls is a colorful trade paperback with all of your child's favorite VeggieTale characters throughout the book. These devotionals are great ways to introduce and interest your child in scripture and how scripture is a part of their every day life. There is a version for boys and another for girls. I was surprised to see that they are not the same book with a different cover. These devotionals are different altogether.
Both devotionals begin each day with a title for the lesson and a Bible verse. A variety of translations are used to make is easier for your child to understand what they are learning about. The devotion touches on a topic, patience, for example. Then the devotion is summarized with a thought of the day, which allows for ongoing discussion. It finishes with a brief prayer asking God to help the child incorporate the lesson into their life.
There is a page that allows the gift giver to inscribe the book to the child and includes the date. There are, also, eleven Bible memory verses in the back of the book that encourage parents to assist their child to commit them to memory.
All-in-all, these children's devotionals are a great way to share The Word with your child (or grandchild) and the books make for nice gifts for a birthday, confirmation, Christmas, or first communion.
