The World's Longest Sock Book Review

The World's Longest Sock is a book for elementary school children.  It has a dust jacket, which you hardly ever see in children's books anymore.  But, I suggest you take the dust jacket off because the book's cover is filled with fascinating information on "The World's..." biggest, oldest, highest, and more.

This is a fun book about the competition between Nina, a knitter in Chile and Chuck, a knitter in New Zealand.  When Nina gets the award for the World's Longest Sock, Chuck decides that he's going to make a longer sock.  The competition gets out of hand when both Nina and Chuck begin to suffer the consequences of knitting all of the time.

What happens in the end is a wonderful compromise to what began as a healthy competition.  Your child will be on the edge of their seat waiting for the final outcome.
