Peace of God Bible Book Review

Peace of God Bible:
Discover and Experience God’s Shalom Throughout The Bible

The new Peace of God Bible by Thomas Nelson Bibles is a great reference for those seeking respite, and a rebuilding platform from whatever circumstances they may have been going through that has separated them from the peace that God provides, and that they may have never known. It is a wonderful basic Scripture filled with easy to use resources for everyday reference. I highly recommend it.

This New King James Version has been edited by Jeremiah J. Johnston, PhD, a preeminent Bible scholar, and President of the Christian Thinker Society. He pastors in apologetics, and is driven by The Great Commandment to love God and equip believers to likewise. He also has a radio program and is frequently published.

This Bible is excellent for a number of reasons, even before the Books of the Bible begin!

  • There are numerous reads about the peace of God
  • The role of salvation in obtaining the peace of God
  • Necessary steps to maintain peace in every circumstance

Once the nitty gritty of Scripture reading starts, the Bible is in easy to read English, in what Nelson calls “Comfort Print,” and it is quite easy to read for long periods of time.

Some of the great features of each Book is that there are introductions that reveal the part that God’s peace plays in each book of the Bible.

There is, in essence a 365-day devotional built in based on key verses or passages to guide the reader how to receive the peace of God and live in that peace, as well as “Peace Notes” that offer short, powerful insights to help the reader understand their wholeness in Jesus Christ.

Here’s an example of a “Peace Note” from Romans 12:18:

  • Christians should seek to live at peace with other human beings, but ultimately, peace comes as a result of Jesus’  work and thus is a gift given by God.

Features include:

  • Book introductions to help reveal the part peace plays in each book of the Bible
  • 365 devotionals based on a key verse or passage to guide you in how to receive and live by God’s peace
  • 365 peace notes offering short, powerful insights to help you understand more deeply the wholeness you have in Christ
  • Topical indexes to help you study on your own how God's peace can shape different relation-ships in your life
  • Articles explore what the peace of God is, how to find or recover it, and how to experience eternal salvation because of what God has done for you
  • Concise concordance and index of features
  • End-of-page translators’ notes and cross-references
  • Line-matched, double-column typesetting
  • Clear and readable 9.5-point NKJV Comfort Print®

After the Scriptures, there is a substantial Concordance of over 3,500 words and over 9,200 lines of context within those words to give added substance to the Scripture reading, along with instructions for its use. Another useful reference is a map of Bible places from the Old and New Testaments.

In conclusion, I highly recommend the Peace of God Bible by Thomas Nelson for anyone seeking a closer walk with God and our Lord Jesus, whether you have lost the peace of that close walk or are seeking a closer walk in peace that you already enjoy.  See more at http://peaceofgodbible.com/.
